Every since I was a young man, I have loved to read.  My mom bought me the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings boxed set in Junior High.  I was hooked.  I hope to develop this section of the site to some of my favourite Christian Fiction writers.

J. R. R. Tolkien

Professor Tolkien was one of the more influential writers of the 20th Century.  His most popular work, the Lord of the Rings has been hailed as the book of the Century.  Newline Cinema's is currently finishing up a live action film trilogy.  Peter Jackson, from New Zealand, has been working on directing the project for a few years now.  Click on the Lord of the Rings button on the left to look at my Lord of the Rings page.

Stephen Lawhead

Lawhead is probably my favourite fiction writer at this time.  I have read most of his works.  He has a pension for tying in Christian themes with Celtic myths.  He has written science fiction as well as historical fiction.  Click on the Steven Lawhead button on the right to learn more about this fascinating author.

C. S. Lewis

Clive Staples Lewis was a friend to Tolkien and many other influential Christian writers in his day.  His most famous work of fiction is the Narnia Chronicles.  In many ways it is much more palatable for children in appearance.  However, the strong Christian imagery is far from child's play.  I have seen theology and bible professors get goose bumps referring to this great work.  My youth minister gave me one of his science fiction books: Out of the Silent Planet when I graduated from High School.  I have several of his books, but most are his theological non-fiction such as Mere Christianity and the Great Divorce.

Frank Perretti

Rounding out my initial list of favourite Christian Fiction writers is Frank Perretti.  He is not really a fantasy writer like the rest.  However, his books do lean to the odd and fantastic in a modern setting.  Many of his works deal with the spiritual realm creeping into the mundane world.  My favourite book from him is the Oath.  I have the Visitation, but I have not read it as of yet.
